Xavier Track & Field Wins Aztec Invitational!

On Saturday, March 2, Xavier Track & Field traveled to Corona del Sol High School to compete in the Aztec Invitational against eleven other teams.

The Gators emerged Meet Champions!

Big Gator Moments

JR Eleanor Borchard

Eleanor is an outstanding track & field athlete who transferred from Oaks Christian, CA, for the 2023-24 school year. The impact of her addition to the Xavier track team has become obvious immediately.
Without running a PR, Eleanor took 2nd in the 300m hurdles and broke a Xavier school record in the process.
Also without running a PR, Eleanor broke into the Xavier 100m hurdles Top Ten List at #6.
Eleanor drove home her impact on Xavier athletics by improving on her 200m PR of 27.10w with a 25.78, taking 2nd in the meet, and moving into 6th place in the Xavier 200m Top Ten List.
Eleanor’s previous track and field experience requires an article by itself, so believe me, Eleanor’s name will be populating many more Xavier top tens before her junior season is over. And then? . . . there’s her senior season.

SR Kaira Burrage

Took first place in the 100m hurdles with a PR of 15.10. Maintains #4 ranking on the Xavier’s 100m hurdles Top Ten List.
Entered meet ranked #6 on 300 hurdles Xavier Top Ten List.
Lowered PR by well over half a second to move to #4.
But that’s not all:
Competed in the high jump for the first time, clears 5-0, takes 4th place, and perches just one inch out of Xavier’s high jump Top Ten List.

JR Marley Stoller

Entered meet outside of Xavier’s 100m Top Ten List. Moves PR from 12.84 to 12.47 and into #3 on Xavier’s 100m Top Ten List

SR Julia Russo

Runs an almost 18-second PR (11:31 to 11:13) to win the 3200m!
Runs a 6-second PR (2:32 to 2:26) in the 800m. Fantastic day for Julia!

The Kaira, Eleanor, and Mackenzie Lopez Hurdles Show

Swept the 100m hurdles 1-2-3 (Kaira, Mackenzie, Eleanor)
Went 2-3-4 in the 300m hurdles (Eleanor, Kaira, Mackenzie)
