2022 Xavier Grad and Brophy Grad are Finalists for HealthCare Heroes Award

August 24, 2022

by Swim Coach David ‘Smitty’ Smithers

Ashleigh Baros (Class of ’22 and swimmer) along with Jack Sorenson (Class of ’22 and Brophy swimmer) were finalists for the Phoenix Business Journals HealthCare Heroes. They were one of three finalists. They did not win, but, they were finalists among an amazing group of people.

These two awesome students coordinated our (Xavier Swim & Dive) service project… Swim for the Light (year #2)… last season and raised over $10,000 for mental health awareness.

Ashleigh could not attend in that she was moving into her dorm the same day as the ceremony.
But, Kelly Scott (Xavier Swimmer class of 2021) attended (pictured). Kelly started Swim for the Light project during the pandemic to raise awareness of mental health issues.
