The Varsity soccer team won its first game in the playoffs beating Liberty High School 6-0!

The first goal was scored by Junior Michal Cagungun who cut the ball inside and hit a low left-footed shot past the Liberty goalkeeper. The second goal was scored by senior Lucy Brink off an assist from Junior Ally Brown. It was a beautiful setup and a very nice one-time finish. The third goal was scored by Ally Brown off an assist from sophomore Bianca Willis. Another great goal!

Senior Maddie Schenk scored the fourth goal off an assist from Ally Brown. It was a great goal placed low in the corner. The fifth goal of the game started when the ball was served high over the back line of the Liberty defenders, and Maddie Schenk never gave up on the play and outran all the Defenders and then was fouled inside the Penalty Box. Senior Captain Lourdes Lauterborn scored the penalty kick off of a really nice shot. For the sixth and final goal, Maddie passed the ball to Lucy Brink, who scored her second goal of the night.

It was a great opening win and everyone got to play and many contributed great minutes. Goalkeepers Kate Willmering and Chloe Cundiff preserved the shutout. The Gators will play Mountain View, Mesa in the quarterfinals on Saturday at noon here at XCP. Please come out and support our great soccer team.

Congratulations on the win and good luck on Saturday! Go Gators!!!
