Xavier Crew Takes On Long Beach Junior Invite

April 12, 2022

This weekend in sunny Long Beach, California the freshman, sophomore, and junior rowing Gators had a successful first spring regatta at Long Beach Junior Invitational located at the Marine Stadium. Starting off strong on Saturday the Gators placed 2nd in the Varsity Women’s 8+ which included Sophie Saia, Neva Nemanic, Elizabeth Church, Brynlee McMillin, Julia Bonilla, Brett Arthur, Norah Dentz, Haley Strickbine, and Gizelle Medina (cox)!

Throughout Saturday they placed 4th in the JV Women’s 8+, 4th (B) and 6th (A) in the U17 Women’s 4+, and 4th in the U17 Women’s 8+. To finish off the evening the U19 Women’s 8+ (B) placed 2nd which included Brynlee McMillin, Natalie Weatherwax, Adelina Marquina, Madailein Eskine, Rhea Sharma, Teagan Moore, Aanya Mulpuri, Grace Thomas, and Gizelle Medina (cox)! On Sunday, the Gators had another successful day on the water! The U16 Women’s 4+ placed 5th, the Varsity Women’s 4+ placed 6th (A) and 5th (B), the Varsity Women’s 4+ B placed 6th, and the Women’s 2x A and B both placed 6th.

The Gators last regatta of the season is Southwest Youth Championship on May 6-8 in Sacramento, California so be sure to catch the Gators on the water then!
