Successful Trip to Mt. SAC for Xavier Cross Country

Xavier Cross Country took a varsity team and a highly-touted JV squad to the prestigious Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational in Walnut, CA, near Los Angeles. This two-day meet featured over 400 high schools and over 11,000 registered athletes. A team from Anchorage, Alaska, and a few teams from Arizona were present; the rest were from California.

The varsity group ran in the Division 1 & 2 Individual Sweepstakes race, featuring 17 teams and 112 runners. The team score was represented two different ways. In Division 2, Xavier was 2nd out of 6 teams; Overall, Xavier was 10th out of 17 teams.

Overall, Xavier was led by SR Hannah Wheeling (23rd), SR Tatum Goforth (24th), and SR Catherine Alaimo (42nd).

The JV squad ran in the Division 1 & 2 JV Sweepstakes race, featuring 14 scoring teams and 6 incomplete teams (less than 5 runners) and 122 runners. In Division 2, the Xavier JV team took 1st place; Overall, they took 2nd place: another strong showing by our JV team.

The JV team was led by SO Lily Beaver (5th Overall, 1st in Division 2), JR Reese Brown (7th Overall, 2nd in Division 2, and SO Summer Goodman (9th Overall, 4th in Division 2)
