Laurie Martin, in her 17th year coaching varsity tennis at Xavier College Preparatory, has won the Pro of the Year for the entire Southwest Division by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA).

Sr. Lynn Winsor, BVM, Vice Principal for Activities & Athletic Director, said, “Laurie is a coach who truly advanced the sport of tennis not only at Xavier but also nationwide. She has inspired and motivated hundreds of girls over the years at Xavier to make them feel a part of the community.”

2020-21 Record 15-3
5 State Team Championships
2016 Arizona Republic High school Coach of the Year

2015 Tennis Industry Magazine National High School Coach of the Year 2015 National High School Coaches Association Girl’s Coach of the Year

She has served for years on many association boards, including: 2021-2022 USTA National High School Committee Chair
2021 SW USTA Strategic Plan Task Force Member
2020-2021 SW USTA Executive Board Member
2020-2021 Arizona Tennis Coaches Association Past-President

Martin also volunteers throughout the community, including coaching Xavier teams in the Guerrant Foundations Battle of the Sexes where they raised over $12,000 for women in 3rd world countries start a small businesses.
