Xavier Track & Field put together some solid performances on Day 1 of the NE Valley Track & Field Championships at Horizon High School on Monday. The meet is host to more than 25 schools, and Day 2 is today.
On Monday, the lane events were prelims, while the field events and distance events were finals. Today, all events are finals.
The top sixteen in each lane event qualified for Wednesday's finals. The sixteen will be split up into two heats of finals; the second heat being the faster.
Xavier Personal Best Performances
Xavier started the meet with a bang. Our top 800m runners had not all run together in a 4x800m race all year, so our best times during the season have been above ten and eleven minutes.
Nina Rao, LilyGrace Anderson, Scarlett Kinsman, and Avaani Lallian got together for the first time and ran a time of 9:30, taking first place, and breaking the meet record previously held by a Xavier relay team in 2014. It was a WOW moment.
The Gator are now ranked #3 in the State for the 4x8. A 4x800 video is not available at this time.
