  • Xavier Soccer Blanks Salpointe 1-0

Xavier Soccer defeated Salpointe Catholic Friday night, 1-0, on Petznick Field in a tightly-contested battle. The high quality of both defenses was on display.

The following statement about who made the goal is a departure from my original statement and is based on Coach Chura's assessment.
With around 2:40 remaining in the game, senior defender Ivy Schuman delivered a long shot from the left side, outside the penalty box, to the goal area, where senior midfielder Nev Herzog directed the ball past the goalie and into the net.

  • Xavier Basketball vs Desert Vista Recap & Highlight Video

On Friday night, 1/16/26, Xavier Basketball lost to the Desert Vista Thunder 37-66.

By the end of the first quarter, the Thunder had built up an 11-point lead, 18-7. Going into half-time the Gators were down twelve, 15-27.

During the third quarter, Desert Vista open up a significant lead, more than doubling Xavier's score. During the first half of the 3rd quarter, Xavier scored 2 points to Desert Vista's 15. DV led 42-17 with four minutes left in the third quarter.

Xavier experienced difficulty in two key areas throughout the game. They struggled to make their shots, and many of their passes were picked off by the Thunder defense.

Xavier has a win-loss record of 8-3. Their next game is this Monday, 1/19/26, versus the 6-4 Sunnyslope Vikings at home @ 7pm.

Despite Xavier's struggles, the video below features some excellent highlights.
