A Letter From Xavier Administration

Dear Xavier Community,

As we continue to deal with COVID-19 and pray for all who are suffering; we are now facing the incomprehensible death of Mr. George Floyd in Minnesota.  We stand united with those who are in pain crying for a voice to be heard; crying for a nation where people are treated with dignity and respect proclaiming the God-given sanctity of each person’s life.

Rooted in the charism of Xavier’s founding religious community, the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary:  freedom, education, charity and justice and Xavier’s mission: educating young women of faith pursuing excellence respecting unity in diversity, let us not rest until our prayers and actions for healing and justice are answered.

Please join us in your homes on Saturday, June 6, 2020 as we pray together at the Xavier Graduation the following:
God of Heaven and Earth
you created the one human family
and endowed each person with great dignity.
Aid us, we pray, in overcoming the sin of racism.
Grant us our grace in eliminating this blight
from our hearts, our communities,
our social and civil institutions.
Fill our hearts with love for you and our neighbor
so that we may work with you
in healing our land from racial injustice.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.  Amen
-USCCB

May there be PEACE and JUSTICE, in our families, in our schools, in our neighborhoods, in our communities, in our homelands, and in our world.

And let us thoughtfully ponder our Bishops’ Pastoral letter against racism:
Open Wide our Hearts: The Enduring Call to Love (usccb.org/racism).

May Mary, the Queen of Peace be our guide.
