Our address is 4710 North Fifth Street in Phoenix.

8th Grade Day

8th Grade Day is a special day for 8th Graders who are interested in applying to Xavier. This year it is scheduled for Friday, October 26, 2018 beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m. Scheduled activities for 8th Grade Day include a welcome assembly, student-led classroom visits, and an all-school pep rally. Lunch will be provided.

We ask that all visitors wear a WHITE SHIRT with short or long sleeves (no tank tops or spaghetti straps) for the fun rally experience on this day!

If your daughter wears a uniform skirt in the school she is currently attending, it is easiest if she wears it to Xavier for her visit, as this is a good conversation starter.

If your daughter does not wear a uniform, then appropriate dress for 8th Graders is required in keeping with the XCP dress code: no shorts, no jeans with rips, holes, or frayed edges, no tank tops, and no flip-flops.

Make a reservation for 8th Grade Day by clicking here. Please only make one reservation per student. Reservations will be accepted beginning August 6th. Please only make one reservation per student. There will NOT be separate email confirmation of the reservation for 8th Grade Day. You simply attend on Friday, October 26 once you make the reservation.

Transportation to and from Xavier for 8th Grade Day is not provided by Xavier and must be arranged by parents. This is a day just for the students; parents are invited to attend an Open House with their daughters on Sunday, October 28th. Please help this day run smoothly by following the drop-off/pick-up instructions for 8th Grade Day:

Drop-Off Instructions:

Enter at the traffic light at Highland Street and 7th Street. You will be directed by Xavier staff to Bidwill Circle. Your daughter will then be escorted into the Performing Arts Center by the Student Ambassadors to check in for the day.

Pick-Up Instructions:

Enter at the Highland Street entrance at 7th Street. You will be directed by Xavier staff to continue toward Bidwill Circle where your daughter will be waiting for you.

Please do not arrive earlier than 1:00 pm for the pick up, as the entire Xavier student body will be leaving from the parking lot prior to that time!

Open House

Parents and their daughters are encouraged to attend Open House on Sunday, October 28, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Information sessions begin at 12:15 and 1:15 p.m. in the Virginia G. Piper Performing Arts Center. There will be student-led tours of the school as well as an opportunity to meet faculty and coaches. Open to families and students of every grade level. No registration is necessary.

Shadow Program

The shadow program is part of the admissions process but is not mandatory. It provides an opportunity for an 8th grade student to visit the Xavier College Preparatory campus for a full day, attending classes with an XCP Student Ambassador. Shadowing is available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from October through February. The day begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. in the Baldwin Library, where the parent and student will meet the Student Ambassador. The Student Ambassador and their 8th grade shadow will spend the day together, following the Student Ambassador’s schedule. The day concludes promptly at 2:50 p.m.

Shadows are to be dropped off no earlier than 7:30 am and picked up no later than 2:55 pm, as there is no appointed supervision before or after these times.
