During the weekend of April 4th-6th, several team members of the Xavier Hotshots Clay Target team participated in the Arizona Skeet Shooting Association State Championships at the Ben Avery Clay Target Center. Two members of the team had outstanding accomplishments!

Savannah LaBerge ’25 was the “12 Gauge Gun Champion”. She competed against 60-plus other contestants from within the state to capture this honor. This is quite an accomplishment, as the vast majority of the shooters participating in this sport have significantly more years of experience than Savannah, and many have won multiple Gun Champion titles.

There were four participants that tied for the Championship with high scores of 97 out of 100. Therefore, a “Shoot-Off” was conducted to determine the winner, and Savannah prevailed by beating the three male contestants!

In addition, Kamea Oudman ’27 won the “Ladies HOA” title. This means that her combined scores shooting 12ga., 20ga., 28ga., and 410 were greater than any other lady participant. So this was quite an accomplishment as well.

Congratulations, Ladies!
