Six players representing the Xavier Tennis team competed in the North Phoenix Kiwanis Tennis Tournament last weekend at the Paseo Racquet Center and came home Tournament Champions.

The Tournament Format:
Each school is allowed two entries for the Singles Tournament bracket and the Doubles Tournament bracket. Each bracket consists of thirty-two entries. Rounds one, two, and quarterfinals are played on Day one; Semifinals & Finals are played on Day two.
Xavier entries and seeding for the Singles Bracket:
- Addie Solomon (#6)
- Maggie Henry (unranked)
Maggie won Rounds one & two, but lost 3-8 in the quarterfinals to a Hamilton player who was seeded #2.
Addie won all three rounds on Day one. On Day two, she received a bye in the semifinals and automatically advanced to the Finals. Addie played a hard-fought battle against the #3-seed, a player from Saguaro, for the Singles Title. Unfortunately, she came up short, but she finished in the runner-up spot — a #6 seed finishing second is a job well done.

Xavier entries and seeding for the Doubles Bracket:

- Gabrielle Dinan / Julia Chrostowski (#1) (on the right)
- Chayse Clingan / Leighton Champagne (#2) (on the left)
Both Gator Doubles teams won all three rounds on Day one. On Day two in the semifinals, both Doubles teams played an Arizona College Prep Doubles team and won, advancing to an All-Gator Doubles Final. Dinan / Chrostowski claimed the Doubles Title, beating Clingan / Champagne 6-3, 6-2. Clingan / Champagne finish Doubles Runners-up.
Overall, the entire Gator team was named the “Girls Champions” of the entire tournament!
