Prep notebook: Xavier's AD given national award
Phoenix Xavier athletic director Sister Lynn Winsor received the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Award of Merit last weekend. Sister Winsor received the award at a national conference for athletic directors in Anaheim, Calif. The award is widely regarded as the most prestigious given out by the NIAAA. read full article.

The one name that probably will catch the most eyes is that of Cheyenne Woods, the niece of Tiger Woods (daughter of his half-brother, Earl Woods Jr.). |

| East Valley briefs: Xavier 3,200 relay team sets state record The Phoenix Xavier High girls shattered the Arizona state record in the 3,200-meter relay on Friday at the Arcadia Invitational in Arcadia, Calif. The quartet ran 9 minutes, 2 seconds, besting the Arizona record of 9:20. Johnson, who will try to lower her state record in the 800 tonight, ran a 2:07 split. Meanwhile, Phoenix Brophy set a meet record Friday in the 4x110-meter high hurdle shuttle relay at 59.28 seconds. It is the second-fastest time in the country.
