CAMPUS VISITS

Any visitor to campus must report to the Main Reception Desk for a visitors pass. If you would like to schedule a tour, please make arrangements well in advance with Christine Mansfield 602.240.3135. Xavier's campus is open Monday thru Thursday from 8:00am to 4:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 12:30pm. Xavier College Preparatory is located within the Phoenix North Central Corridor. The entrance to the school is off of 7th Street and Highland Avenue - just south of Camelback. Our address is 4710 North Fifth Street, Phoenix, 85012.

Shadowing Program
The shadow program is part of the admissions process but is not mandatory.  It provides an opportunity for a young lady in 8th grade to visit the Xavier College Preparatory campus for a full day, attending classes with a XCP freshwoman or sophomore Student Ambassador.  Shadowing is done Monday through Friday from November through March.  The day begins at 7:45 a.m. at the main office where the parent and student will meet the Student Ambassador.  The 8th grader and the Student Ambassador will spend the day together following the Student Ambassador’s schedule.

Things You Should Know for Your Shadow Date
How do I schedule a shadow date for my daughter?  Check out the following calendar for an available shadow date and then fill out the request form and submit it.  You should receive a response to your request within 2-7 days so it is best to request a date at least two weeks in advance.  Remember, shadowing is done November through March and on Mondays through Fridays of each week. 
What should my daughter bring with her?  On the day of her visit, your daughter should bring the following:
- $5 for purchasing lunch and a snack at break, or she may bring a bag lunch.  Xavier is a closed campus.
- Bring a book for your daughter to read in case a teacher is giving a test.
- A permission slip allowing your daughter to participate in the Shadow Program must be brought with her on the day of the visit.  Click here to download the permission slip.
Where do I park?  Enter through the 7th St. entrance and continue straight back until you find a parking space.  You may park anywhere so long as it does not say reserved.
Where does my daughter meet up with the Student Ambassador?  Walk your daughter to the Attendance Office where she will meet the Student Ambassador with whom she will be spending the day.  The Attendance Office is located in the courtyard next to the Bell Tower. She should be in the Attendance Office by 7:40 a.m. Note that your daughter will receive a phone call from her student ambassador the evening before so that the ambassador can introduce herself.
When should I pick her up?  School is out at 2:40 p.m. and at that time your daughter will be taken back to the Attendance Office to give us some feedback about her day.  Due to congestion in the parking lot, you will not be allowed in until 2:55 p.m.  At that time you will enter through the 7th St. entrance and proceed straight back until you find a parking space.  Then walk over to the Attendance Office and pick up your daughter.
What should she wear?
- If she wears a uniform in the school she is currently attending, she should wear it to Xavier for her visit as this is a good conversation starter.
- If your daughter does not wear a uniform at her current school, then a nice pair of slacks (no jeans), or a skirt that is not too short will do.  No flip flops, spaghetti straps or shorts are allowed.
